Care Instructions
Linen is not a fabric to be afraid of. The marks of wear it picks up — soft creases, a slight fade where it sees the sun — are part of why people return to it. With a few simple habits, your DNKMP piece will soften, deepen, and improve year after year.
Washing
Machine wash cold — no warmer than 30°C — on a gentle cycle. A neutral, mild detergent is best: no bleach, no fabric softener, no optical brighteners. Turn the garment inside out, and don't overload the drum. Linen needs space to move freely.
Hand washing is just as good. Cool water, gentle agitation, rinse twice. The fibres reward a soft touch.
Drying
Air-dry on a hanger or laid flat on a towel. Avoid direct sunlight on coloured pieces — linen takes well to gentle bleaching from the sun, which is sometimes desirable on whites, but not on a navy coat.
While the garment is still slightly damp, reshape it gently. Pull the seams straight, smooth the collar, run your hand down the placket. The fabric will dry in the shape you set.
Tumble drying is not recommended. If you must, use the lowest heat setting and remove the piece while still slightly damp.

Ironing
If you want a cleaner finish, iron the garment while still slightly damp on the linen setting. Iron from the reverse side on darker colours to avoid shine. Use a pressing cloth on collars and cuffs.
Or don't iron at all. The soft creases that linen earns through the day are part of what makes the fabric beautiful — they read as quietly worn, not uncared for.
Storage
Hang shirts and coats on shaped wooden hangers — they hold the shoulder shape over time. Fold trousers loosely; tight folds in the same place can leave a permanent crease.
Keep your linen in a cool, dry, breathable space. Long-term plastic storage traps moisture and dulls the fibre. A fabric garment bag is a better choice if you must protect a piece between seasons.
Stains and repairs
Treat stains promptly with cold water and a small amount of mild detergent. Do not rub aggressively — linen fibres can fuzz with friction. For stubborn marks, a careful dry-clean is safer than home remedies.
